Monday Minutes: Item Search Enhancements

In this week's Monday Minutes, Kelly and Jessie show off two new enhancements for the Item Search in Koha. Bug 14911 will bring more subfields from the 245 to be visible in the results and Bug 32960 will allow users to customize the search to allow the exclusion of checked-out items.

More Visible Subfields

This new feature will now show more subfields in the results of an item search from the MARC field 245. Prior to this enhancement, only the 245$a was displayed. Now the item search results will display:

Title 245$a

Subtitle 245$b

Medium 245$h

Part Number 245$n

Part Name 245$p

Excluding Checked Out Items

Additionally, a new enhancement in the item search will allow users, when running an item search to exclude checked-out items. Before this, a user could see all results regardless of status or see only checked-out items. Now they have all three choices when running a search.
